Michael Kwet is a Visiting Fellow of the Information Society Project at Yale Law School and received his PhD from Rhodes University in South Africa. He is the author of Digital colonialism: US empire and the new imperialism in the Global South (Race & Class), People's Tech for People's Power (Right2Know), and the host of the Tech Empire Podcast (Soundcloud / iTunes). He is editor of the forthcoming volume, The Cambridge Handbook of Race and Surveillance, due out in 2022 on Cambridge University Press.
